Joint ACP-EU Private Sector Development Framework: stakeholders meet in Senegal

After East and Southern Africa (May 2019), the Caribbean (June 2019), from November 6 to 8, 2019, it was the turn of the private sector in West and Central Africa to be mobilized on the occasion of the third Information, Knowledge Sharing and Networking event, organized by the ACP Secretariat. This regional event was structured in three parts:

  • The first day was devoted to providing detailed information on how the private sector can benefit from intra-ACP / EDF and EU financing facilities as well as from Private Sector Development programs.
  • Four thematic Knowledge Sharing sessions enabled participants to learn between peers and experts and discuss the opportunities and challenges of African development in areas as fundamental as Innovative Financing Models for Businesses and Private Sector Development, potential of the Creative and Cultural Industries, the development of agro-industries and intra-African trade in agricultural products, the development of digital entrepreneurship and Industry 4.0.
  • Finally, a visit to the Diamniadio Industrial Platform and two special training sessions closed these three days of conference, well covered by the local media (refer to press articles)
